An official of the Ministry of Power and Energy has told the media that they are still negotiating with the Central Bank regarding the allocation of dollars to pay for crude oil and fuel. A ship carrying crude oil and two ships carrying diesel are currently anchored in the port of Colombo. It has been 03 weeks since the crude oil ship arrived at the port and the two diesel ships have arrived 02 weeks ago. However, the landing work has not started till now. The Petroleum Statutory Corporation says that the reason is the lack of dollars to pay for crude oil and fuel.

The unbeaten Colombo South Team will meet the Galle Team in the inaugural Sri Lanka Youth League Girls’ Under-19 Twenty20 Cricket Tournament final at the Dambulla Stadium today. A total of 78 players representing six teams, namely Colombo South, Colombo North, Galle, Galle Outer, Kandy and Dambulla participated in this tournament. The 78 players were chosen by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) through its National Talent Pathway, covering all schools, districts, and provincials.
